WHAT IS RACE WEEKEND!

Marathon Bahamas is a non-profit organization which promotes the love of long-distance running and enhances community involvement in fitness activities through high quality events open to a wide variety of ages and ability levels. 100% of the proceeds of the weekend events (marathon, half marathon, relay, 5K) remain in The Bahamas to fund research, education and treatment of cancer. We are proud that, to date (five years), we have distributed $300,000 to our local charities.

Our volunteers continue to be the backbone of our success with over 800 coming to us through group volunteers and return annually.

And, our marathon participants?
The goal is to plan and produce the best possible running experience every year! Accolades continue to attest to the quality of the event and the course-which has vast amounts of wide open ocean vistas.
Registrants receive top-quality tech shirts and finishers receive commemorative finishers medals. Overall and age-group winners receive the traditional conch shell or junkanoo cowbell awards.

The 5K is a quick trek from Montagu Beach to Paradise Island on Saturday preceding the marathon. Groups and teams vie for awards (largest, most creative and most energetic). The highlight of the event is the ‘survivors ceremony’ where we celebrate memory and survivorship.
