Mr. Brian Moodie, President of Marathon Bahamas recently presented a $2,500 cheque to The Cancer Society of The Bahamas, from Marathon Bahamas 2010 proceeds. While making the presentation, Moodie indicated that although the inaugural event did not yield a profit, the organizers followed through on the promise to assist the two charities named for Marathon Bahamas 2010. He also advised that both the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation and the Cancer Society will continue as the beneficiaries in 2011. Accepting the cheque on behalf of the Cancer Society were President Earle Bethell, and Founder, Mrs. Susan Roberts. Bethell thanked Marathon Bahamas for the financial assistance which will be used to assist with the Association's cancer initiatives in New Providence and the Family Islands.
